Privacy Policy
No advertising, no analytics, no trackers, nothing sold. Here is the whole of what the game stores.
This policy covers enochianpraxis.com and the Enochian Praxis mobile apps. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Last updated: 13 September 2026.
The short version
- Solo practice collects nothing. No account, no server, no personal details.
- Online play needs an email address, and that is the only personal detail asked for. There is no password.
- There are no advertisements, no analytics, no third-party trackers, and no advertising cookies anywhere on the site.
- Chat is broadcast live and never stored, unless someone reports a specific message.
- Nothing is sold, rented, or shared for marketing. Ever.
- You can delete your account and its data yourself, from inside the game, in two clicks.
Who is responsible
Enochian Praxis is run by an independent individual operator in Connecticut, United States, who is the data controller for the purposes of the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. Contact: avery@seldomdreams.com.
What is collected, and why
If you only play solo, or only read the articles
Nothing about you is collected or sent anywhere. Solo games are saved in your own browser’s local storage, on your own device. We cannot read that, and clearing your browser data deletes it.
If you create an account for online play
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | It is how you sign in. A link or six-digit code is emailed to it. No password is stored, because none is used. |
| A display name | Shown to the other players at the table. Suggested from your email prefix at signup, and changeable at any time. |
| Rating, games played, games won | Matchmaking and the standings. |
| Games you sit in, and every move made | The game itself: the board state, the move log, and the end-of-game reading. Moves are kept so a finished game can be replayed. |
| Reported chat messages | Only created when a player uses Report. Stores that one message, who reported it, and who sent it, for moderation. |
| A device notification token (mobile apps only) | Only if you turn on turn notifications. It identifies the device to Apple or Google, not you. |
| A sign-in session in your browser | Kept in local storage so you are not signed out on every visit. It is not an advertising cookie and is not shared. |
What is never collected
No payment or card details (there is nothing to buy). No real name, address, phone number, or date of birth. No contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location. No advertising identifiers. No behavioural profiling. No analytics of any kind — there is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, and no third-party measurement script on the site.
Chat, in detail
In-game chat is a live broadcast between the players in a room. Messages pass through the realtime service to the other players and are not written to any database. When the room ends, they are gone, and not even the operator can retrieve them.
The one exception is reporting. If a player reports a message, that single message is copied into a moderation table along with the reporter, the sender, and the room, so the report can be reviewed. Muting a player is purely local: the block list lives in your own browser and is never sent anywhere.
Who else processes this data
The Service runs on a small number of providers, each acting as a processor on our behalf:
- Supabase — accounts, authentication emails, the game database, and realtime broadcast.
- Netlify — website hosting and the server functions that referee games. Netlify keeps short-lived request logs, which include IP addresses, as an ordinary part of serving and protecting a website.
- Groq — composes the optional deeper reading at the end of a game. It receives only the significant squares of the finished game and their traditional attributions. It receives no email address, no display name, and no account identifier.
- Apple and Google — deliver push notifications, in the mobile apps only, if you enable them.
Some of these providers operate servers in the United States, so data may be processed there. No data is sold, rented, or handed to advertisers or data brokers. Data is disclosed otherwise only if the law requires it.
Legal bases (UK and EU users)
- Performance of a contract — your account, your games, and your move history. Without them the game cannot work.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the Service secure and moderating abuse, including reported messages and server logs.
- Consent — push notifications, which you turn on yourself and can turn off at any time.
How long it is kept
Account details are kept while the account exists, and are removed when you delete it. Games and their move logs are kept so completed games remain replayable for the other players; your identity is removed from them when you delete your account. Reported messages are kept for up to two years, then deleted. Hosting logs are kept for the short retention window set by the provider.
Deleting your account
Sign in, open the lobby, and use Your Standing → Delete Account. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
Deleting removes your sign-in record, your email address, your profile and display name, your rating and record, your seats in any game, any lobbies you created, your device notification tokens, and any reports you filed.
One thing deliberately survives: the move logs of games other people also played in. Those rows stay so your opponents keep a replayable history of their own games, but your identity is stripped from them — the player reference is set to null, exactly as it already is for a move made automatically by the server. The remaining rows cannot be traced back to you.
If you would rather not use the in-app button, email avery@seldomdreams.com from the address on the account and it will be done for you.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Deletion is available to you directly, at any time, from inside the game. For anything else, email avery@seldomdreams.com and it will be answered within 30 days.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are used in California law, and we never have. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making with legal effect.
If you are in the UK or EEA and you think your data has been mishandled, you may complain to your national supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email avery@seldomdreams.com and it will be deleted.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit. Sign-in uses emailed links and codes, so there is no password to leak. The game database is locked down with row-level security: clients can only read, and every write goes through a server function. That said, no service can promise perfect security, and this one is run by one person — please do not put anything sensitive in chat.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it, and significant changes will be noted on the site.
